Franco, ( and others) yet another Travestre question..

We're family of four with reservations at Santa Francesca Romana, a Ponte Rotto. Will be there in June. It looks great and from what I can glean from reviews, is good. What do you think of it and the surrounds? Can we walk most places from there? Ad what about restaurants?

Thanks

Looks like a really good location in Trastevere to me. Lots of restaurants in the neighborhood, close to the Tiber so easy to walk across to the centro storico and most sights.

Well, as I've told more than often, this is my favourite part of Trastevere. It's just around the corner from my preferred apartment.
Walk most places, no, of course not. Rome is huge. But you can walk several places, which is definitely more than you could say about most other accomodation locations. And as I've also repeated so often that it will drive the regulars here crazy to read it once more, you have those excellent bus connections along the Tiber, so you get almost anywhere in reasonable time.

Many thanks to Ellenem and Franco.
You both have given me great replies. I feel better now. Franco, guess I'll just have to read all your Travestre entries to glean more info about the area.

Thanks again.

You could look into my "Roman accomo...districts" thread. If you click on my name, it's always near the top.
Have fun in Rome!

I hope you post a review of this place after your stay. The prices are great, especially for something with AC. I'm impressed.

We are staying at a B&B not far from there in May. After several trips to Rome, we are looking forward to exploring more of Trastevere. Plus, the prices are good, and the transportation connections don't seem bad at all.

I was one of the centro storico or bust people, but the prices have become just too much for us at the places where we have stayed before.

I think you will like this location, and I'm sure we will too.
