Those trains from Gare d'Austerlitz to Toulouse though I think are much much slower
Two hours longer than the TGV, including an unexplained 30 minute stop in Cahors. Price is 86€ which is much cheaper than the TGV regular prices (some trains leaving from Montparnasse, other gare de Lyon). although on the date I checked there was one TGV ticket available for 76€; which shows that one should order early and look for discounts.

It would be totally out of place for me to suggest that you modify your plan to exclude any country. All I can do is respond by sharing with you some of what my wife and I did and let you derive from the experience what may benefit you in tailoring your itinerary.
First of all, we enjoyed our 4 day visit to Paris but concluded that for us, the countless small medieval towns of France and other areas hold a special attraction and charm. We drove throughout Normandy, Loire, Brittany, Nouvelle Aquitaine, and Provence and visited that country twice. I have a special endearment to the Dordogne Valley and the wealth of beauty and history it contains.
On our first visit, we rented a car and drove and on the second visit in the Provence area, we used public transportation exclusively as we found it a waste of time to have a car in Cannes, Nice, Monaco and that entire area.
Even a mere attempt to speak the language of your host country will draw gestures of warmth and friendship to you.
And do not be wary of driving but take a GPS and regular road maps bearing in mind that there is even great joy in getting lost.
By the way, Switzerland is wonderful. I have been there three times.
I hope that this helps you with planning your exciting trip.
