Food for thought:
"If insects were removed from the planet it would be a disaster of massive proportions, but if humans were removed from the planet the world would flourish."
- The earth just doesn't need us.

Based on my experiences in Europe, raising of animals is much better regulated and held to higher standards than in the US. Tyson chicken is the most disgusting chicken I have ever tasted in the world, makes me wonder what the hell they are doing to the chickens that they taste so bad.

I saw a report once on the difference between chicken processing in the U.S. and Europe. In the U.S., the chicken carcasses are soaked in water to make them "juicier" and, more important, heavier. Unfortunately, the water that they soak in is still full of guts and fecal matter. That's why the last soak is in water with disinfectant. Yum!

Sorry PB - no can do. The quote is from another travel forum - but seems to accurate as to be self-evident imho.
Voluntarilly disappearing? Not likely - but that doesn't change the fact that we use a lot more of the earth's bounty than we return to it...
