Found a good deal

I am happy to report that yesterday I bought my tickets from AA at a very good price..

It is amazing that just because I changed my date and instead of leaving for Europe June 4th, like I planned to do it to May 28, I saved over $595 per person..

I bought an open jaw ticket ,from SAT to FCO and from CDG to SAT, leaving May 28th and returning June 25th for $755.00 per person..

Last year I paid $790.00 for the same flight, and was very happy about it..

Kismetchimera, wave 'howdy' to my hometown for me! Born and raised in SAT, stopping in later on in Oct for my dad's 80th birthday...

I am kinda new to international travelling... is this because after June 1st the price goes up? Or just pure luck (or wiseness)?

Great going kismetchimera. Did you intentionally change your date and discover the lower price, or did you discover the price difference and decide to change the date?
Either way, good show.

I've always found the European fares with AA to be cheaper if leaving before June 1, so I suspect that was the main reason for that extra savings.

Sher and Faina, I kept looking at the fares for the first week of June.. and could not believe at the exorbitant prices the airlines were asking..
Then when i found out that the school of Brooke, my grandaughter, this year finished earlier , just for curiosity i tried once again..

Could not believe the difference in the ticket's price,if one travel the end of May , instead of the first week of June....

The same thing happens on AA on Nov 1- the prices drops. The airlines continue summer prices until Halloween even though summer ends several weeks aarlier.
This past spring I wanted to fly to Iceland out of MSP on Ap 2. They wanted $900 RT so I checked Mar 25 and the price dropped to $450 so March it was.
One of many reasons I prefer to travel in the off season - lower prices. Summer is the worst time to travel which I know is the only time many people can travel. I have long felt that Americans need more vacation time.
