For UK visitors - Leonardo da Vinci exhibition

This is just information for anyone who would enjoy seeing the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci - there will be a few exhibitions held later this year through Royal Collection Trust.

There's also an entertaining spat building up between Italy and France over Leonardo's heritage (or at least, some Italian politicians are axe-grinding).

I would kill to visit the V&A to see Princess Margaret's Dior gown. Kill.

I am sure this exhibition of Dior will draw huge crowds.

Will visit in April

I cannot thank you enough for providing the link, Kay! I try not to miss Leonardo’s works exhibits. Will be in London solo in April and will certainly make it a priority.

And thank you for the Dior’s exhibit tip! It will be my visit on the arrival day.

Thank you for this Kay!

Thin: My pals and are planning to go to the Dior exhibit, maybe next Sunday if we can get tickets. I adore Dior!

Quick question

How far ahead of the time of my visit should I order tickets for the Dior Exhibit?

Thank you so much in advance!

Order them now. I expect the Dior to be almost as much a blockbuster as the McQueen which sold out weeks/month in advance depending on the date and broke all sorts of attendance records. (Luckily I'm a member of the V&A so can just walk in w/o booking.)

Janis is right - order now. I just got a ticket for Feb 17th at 0900.

Get first ticket of the day, as it gets rather crowded.

KayE, thanks for the information about the many exhibits of DaVinci’s drawings being featured in various British venues during his 500th anniversary year. I noticed that those include the Queen’s Gallery adjoining Buckingham Palace from May 24-October 13, 2019. That is one of my favorite small museums in London, so elegant and doable. Hope to catch this exhibit when I visit in June.

So glad this has been helpful. When we lived in the UK one of my favourite things to do was visit the V&A, including a Dior exhibition back a number of years ago. Fabulous to see such beautiful clothing. And the jewellery!! Not sure if that permanent exhibit is still there. They have probably mopped up my drool....

Pepper_von_Snoot, did you happen to see the Dior exhibit in paris? There seems to be a variation of it at the Denver Art Museum right now. If I could take a pic of Margaret's dress for you I would!

I have been watching the tickets for Dior for a few months. About a day or two before it opened, they really started to go fast. We are going during our visit in early April. I missed the one in Paris a year or two back so I wasn't gonna miss this one.

I equate this to the Cartier exhibit we saw in Paris a few years ago...the clothing equivalent anyway. Can't wait.

Just booked my ticket for the end of April. There are tickets available, but looks like they are going very fast.

Lovely, thanks for this! Got our tickets for July. I might be mistaken but it seems they had a Dior exhibit at the DeYoung in SF several years ago which I did not get to and regretted. Glad to make it to this one.
