For Sicily lovers only !
I have added some new images to my Sicily gallery--most of them in Palermo. Perhaps the Sicily lovers may enjoy them.

You can see my photos from my Sicily trip with elderhostel here:

Please do not be put off that the top of the page says "New Zealand". Some guy on the trip created the web page for me and had previously gone to New Zealand. I have told him, but. . . . Beggars can't be choosers and we still have the New Zealand typo.
We spent two weeks on the sailboat traveling from Catania to Palermo stopping at 5 of the Aeolian Islands. The guy playing the flute is the ship's captain.

Hmmm... I use an Olympus 4 mgpx but I always have difficulty getting the flower/fauna in the foreground to focus without making the ruin in the background get all fuzzy and out of focus. Perhaps it isn't the camera after all... maybe it is just the operator! I also looked through your other photo albums and it was just like journeying to those places. You have a talent for capturing the essence of a place. Thanks again for sharing

bobthenav, nice shots!
TexasAgg, you are describing a very common problem. Check your manual to see if it discusses "depth of field" which is camera speak for controlling how much of the picture ends up in focus. Many cameras have settings that will allow the entire picture to be in focus. If yours doesn't, try googling "depth of field" and you may learn a trick or two you can apply to your camera to put the foreground and background in focus. Or ask some of the more knowledgeable folks here to help you. I don't have a digital camera. But this is a neat technique to master and it isn't difficult once you know how.

Murphy, thanks for the compliment. I have to learn how to get my photos up online from other trips. It is a slow learning curve. I do have to say that my photos from Sicily were so beautiful because Sicily is so beautiful. It is not hard to take beautiful photos when the scenery cooperates.
I just wish Americans would expand their definition of what Italy is beyond Venice, Florence, Rome and the Amalfi Coast.

I love the collage of Taormina
