How fun this is! I struggled about the default color until I saw your post to choose the category. Now I am on the calendar for April-May, 2009. I hope others will add to this.

Thanks for a great, fun idea!

Oh, my January entry doesn't have a color. Or is it jaundice?

This is such a neat idea. Thanks BillT!!

One thought - I notice some folks are just entering their travel days (departures/arrivals, etc.) But some others are entering every single day of their itinerary.

I do that on my own personal calendars - but on a group/joint calendar that may get too busy w/ so many of us traveling. We ARE a travel site after all

Maybe if we limit entries to days we actually change locations it will leave more space for more entries??

Just a thought. Not really a big issue one way or the other but it just might make things a bit easier.

On Monday somebody goes to a spa? That's a trip

Yes, check the calendar, it's there!

Ok maybe we need to define a trip as boarding a plane, train, bus and traveling a distance of say at least 100 miles?

Since the calendar is filling up so fast, you might need to do a separate calendar for each forum or add a separate GTG/Bday calendar.

I just entered my info and then read the rest of this post. My info has the default background, but the type is green. Hope this is ok with everyone.

Calendar tips:

1) Please use the category field when creating your items. I have added a fourth category- "Other Events" for the misc. items now appearing.

2) please use the default colors that come with each category- this will maintain some order to the colors and allow you to more easily find GTGs (green), birthdays (lavender), vacations (blue) etc.

3) Please keep you description short as others may be posting on the same day. Use the pop up field to expand your text and add a URL if applicable

4) Comments and feedback are welcome- enjoy your Fodorite Calendar!

I think some also don't realize that you can use "duration" to note your trip on each day. That way you only need a brief message and it will enter on each day of your trip, eg: "LCBoniti-Ireland/UK"

Very fun to see all the upcoming trips.

I don't understand how p[eople add things. Isn't it only BillT who can enter changes and additions?

You add them where the calendar says add events on the left side.
