Even Dublin won't be affected by a Northern Ireland holiday, except that quite a few people in the north try to get away for the 'marching season' around 12th July to avoid all the hassles and sometimes disruptions caused. But this mainly affects airports in Belfast and Derry, major roads and ferry ports.

Padraig - I haven't booked anything yet... and I'm finding it is indeed awkward... the problem remains that they are traveling out of Crossmaglen (boarder town with barracks)and family is telling us not to fly out of Dublin that day probably because they will be driving the kids to the airport. I'm now looking at bus/train to Limerick where they can book a tour to Cliffs of Moher.... then its easy for them to get from Limerick to Shannon. Thanks

Better Galway (or Ennis) for an excursion to the Cliffs. In the Tourist Season, BusEireann used to have some tours from Galway Bus/Train Station to the Cliffs of Moher. Sorry, I can't provide any more info: I just saw the Flyers posted on the wall in the Ticket Office.
From Ennis, you would probably have to contact Tony Woods for a private tour; but he would probably include Doolin & the Burren (and Lahinch) because they're 'on the way.'

I can claim some local knowledge, as I live only a few miles down the road from Crossmaglen, on the other side of the border. There is absolutely no problem about getting from "Cross" to Dublin Airport on the "Twalfth", or in getting flights from Dublin to London on that date (check aerlingus.com, preferably without delay, as they have a special deal on at the moment). Or they can come a few miles down the road to where I live, and get a bus to Dublin.
To get to Limerick you need to get transport from Crossmaglen to Newry, train to Dublin, change to another station in Dublin, then train to Limerick (possibly with a change in Limerick Junction). From Limerick to the Cliffs of Moher is even more work.
On the other hand, Dublin Airport is only about an hour by road from Crossmaglen. And if they want to get out of Norn Iron before the Twalfth (not at all necessary in South Armagh) there are places that might interest them as much as the Cliffs of Moher but closer to hand. Newgrange, for example is on the route.
