Fly into Prague or Vienna?

Is it better to fly from DC into Prague or Vienna? Is there any advantage landing in one over the other? Obviously if we fly into one we will be returning home from the other. Thank you for your input.

I'd pick:

1) The flight with better connection times; and
2) The flight that's cheaper

masterphil, we are going on a week long trip 3 nights in Prague, 3 nights in Vienna. Visiting the usual sights one takes in while touring these 2 cities!!!!! Probably taking a train between the 2 cities. A friend tells me its better to fly into Vienna.

I don't think you can fly directly from IAD to Prague, but there is a daily non-stop United flight from IAD to Vienna. So, the question is whether you'd want to make a connection at the front end of the trip or at the end. For me, I'd rather have it at the end.

RonZ why just Vienna? Actually I was considering just the one city and it would have been Prague. Why would you choose Vienna over Prague? JEAN thanks, I should check, what a surprise if there was a non stop to one of the cities.

Between Vienna and Prague I believe there is no comparison whatever, but of course that's just my opinion.

Vienna and Prague are both wonderful destinations. Vienna has more museums, and I'm a museum junkie, but I feel like I had more fun in Prague. If you spent the entire week in either place, you'd have time for a day trip or two out of the city.

Hi Prague is our favorite city. We like Vienna too. We need to know more of your reasons for going to either city. The two cities are entirely different. If you want a city that is the way it was hundreds of years ago, Prague had very little damage in WW2. Vienna had much damage during the war, but was loveingly rebuilt. So more info. But, three days in both cities would work fine. For Prague see www.inyourpocket.com/ for a download. Click on the city and then 'instant'. Dick
