Florence or Cinque Terre

We are visiting our daughter studying in Milan over Holy Week. We have most of the week planned. Our debate is Florence or Cinque Terre. I realize it's comparing apples and oranges but we're having a difficult time deciding. One of us has been to Florence and neither has been to Cinque Terre. Also, how long of a trip is it to each destination.

See www.trenitalia.com fopr train schedules.

You want La Spezia in the CT.

We loved both but CT was our "recover and rest" section.

Do you like to hike? If no CT will provide you with some great down time. Good food and cute little towns to explore but 2 days is enough unless you are really looking for down time and romance.

We went to both Florence and Cinque Terre in January this year. Neither of us enjoyed Florence at all and will not go back there. However, the Cinque Terre was just amazing.
You are comparing apples with oranges. It really comes down to whether you are interested in spectacular coastline scenery or the arts.

Thanks for the replies. It looks like we may be heading to CT. It sounds like a great way to end our trip. Also, thanks ira for the train link. Very helpful.
