Florence hotel - next weekend - central location

Hello all,
Next weekend myself and 3 italians are going to Florence for the weekend. They want a very central location, clean, and for less than 100 Euros (for a double) a night, oh and with a private bath but maybe also with some character.
Any recommendations?
As always thanks for the help!

Not sure about the 100 Eu, it will probably be a bit more, but the Residenza Il Villino offers everything else you are looking for. It's a lovely B&B on a quiet street, with spotless, nicely decorated rooms, excellent, friendly service, private baths, and a little garden/courtyard where you can relax or have breakfast. It's right near the Accademmia and the Duomo. I walked everywhere from there. Highly recommended. Residenzailvillino.com

Il Porcellino Guest House has one of the best locations I can think of in Florence:

thank you for all the suggestions! Does anybody know anything about Machiavelli's palace hotel on Via Nazionale? It says it's a 3 star hotel and only 67 Euro a night so I'm kind of wondering what the catch is?

The star system refers to amenities available, like a breakfast room, elevator, or meeting room. For example, it could be a horrible place, but if if it has an elevator, it gets 3 stars.

However, the reviews for this hotel on Tripadvisor.com are pretty positive, so it seems to be worth considering.
