Florence Hotel / B&B

My wife and I are going to be in Florence for 4 nights in June. We have our hotels for the rest of our trip and are trying to find a good place to stay in Florence. I have been looking at Residenza della Signoria and it got really good reviews from TripAdvisor.com as well as other sites. Has anyone stayed here or heard good or bad about this place or have any other suggestions for places to stay in Florence. We are looking to spend around $100 max. We would like to stay around Duomo area. Thanks.

I've stayed at Alloro B&B which is a few minutes walk from the Duomo. It might be in your price range. I would e-mail for rate info since they can be cheaper than the online reservation.

Hi JJ,

I can highly recommend www.bedinflorence.it

www.viamichelin.com says that it is 1.6 km from the Duomo.

There are also several buses that stop in front of the building.

Enjoy your visit.

We've just booked the Hotel Casci for November. We have never stayed there before, but it seems to be well reviewed.

We also stayed at the Alloro (in October 2008) and it was very convenient. Quick walk from the train station (we arrived from Venice) and we walked everywhere, including across the bridge. Took a local bus to the Piazza Michealangelo, which I highly recommend to get away from this congested city for a few hours.

The Alloro is not "elegant" as it advertises, but it is very clean and the hosts are good guys. Breakfast is brought to your room (you tell them the night before when you want it) as they have no kitchen on premises. This was nice, actually. We had a regular room and it included a little balcony you could stand on with a view of the Duomo.

I'd certainly stay there again.
