I too stayed at the Hotel Casci www.hotelcasci.com in July and August 2006. My wife and I found it to be very clean, friendly and close to all attractions. Continental breakfast is included in the room rate. Venere.com has many reviews of this hotel. Also, if you are interested in any tours I recommend Walking Tours of Florece www.artiva.com Excellent tours and all of the museum tickets are included in the tour prices.

Another vote for the Tourist House Ghiberti. It was great.

I second the Relais Grand Tour. We stayed there for 3 nights in October, in the Diva Suite and enjoyed the outdoor patio. Check it out-- you won't be disappointed!

You can't really beat the location and view of the Hermitage Hotel. It looks out over the Ponte Vecchio and is literally across from the Uffizi. The staff is also really friendly and will help with reservations, etc. It ranges from 120-245 euro/night, so it's not the cheapest, but you'll definitely be within walking distance of *everything*

suestein, just out of curiosity, when were you at RGT? We were there Oct. 1-4. Is it trippy or what??! When I left, I told the owners that I not only planned to return, I planned to move in permanently.

We stayed at the Hotel Baglioni. It is directly across from SMN train station. Even if you don't stay here, go up to the rooftop terrace where you have a 360degree view of Florence. It is absolutely spectacular. Our room was lovely and rustic, with a very pretty walkout terrace. Would definitely stay here again. Paid about 250 per night Canadian.

LucieV-- We were at the Realis Grant Tour Oct. 15-18. It was wonderful! Friends of ours stayed in the Mirrors Suite. We really enjoyed the B&B and loved how Cristina decorated it....she has much talent! I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
