Florence December weather/crowds

Hi-I am thinking about visiting Florence this December, between Christmas and New Year--what will the weather be like--and will it be crowded? Many thanks.

Most likely it will be windy and very cold which will keep the crowds down. Of course if you are from Chicago, you may feel right at home. LOL. Being from Atlanta, light thermals, warm socks, coats and gloves were the order of the day.

I was there once for Christmas. It was not very cold, but was very wet.

It was not crowded and I enjoyed being there at that time of year.

We were there between Christmas and New Year and it was so enjoyable due to the lack of crowds. We were lucky with the weather too - it was pleasant.

We were there last December & it was fantastic. Yes, we wore light jackets/hats & gloves, but we are from WI, so we thought the weather was nice! We had no rain & temps in the 4o's. There were hardly any crowds at all. In fact, we were the only family in the room when we went to see David at the museum. I don't think we could handle Italy with crowds, we got too spoiled!

I was there one year just after New Year's. Weather was cool, rained one day, but overall very pleasant. The most pleasant thing was the lack of crowds.
