sounds like a plan. I don't quite understand what you are finding with the Delambre, I just filled out their booking form with your exact dates (right now) and the 107 euro was an average over the 5 nights -- 2 nts were at 120 (6/29 and 6/30) and the other 3 at 99. So I'm not sure how you got 3 at 107 which was the average over those 5 nights. Rates can vary by day of the week and they appear to have cheaper rates in July than June, which isn't that unusual. That was for a superior twin room. Did you see something wrong?

Here's a vote for the Hotel du Lys in the 6th between metro stops St. Michel and Odeon. Excellent location and within your price range. I stayed there a few weeks ago and highly recommend it for cost, cleanliness and location.

I love the location of the Hotel du Lys and was considering staying there last year. I think I took it off my list because it doesn't have an elevator or am I mistaken? I know I could be wrong! Personally, I like an elevator and also want AC in the summer months.

Another vote for Hotel du Lys; I have stayed there several times and have recommended it to many friends who also love it for what it is, a "budget" 2 star in a charming building that dates from the 17th century. The location cannot be beaten, IMO!
It does not have an elevator, but you can request a room on one of the lower floors if that is an issue, and I have, in recent years
, always had someone at front desk carry my luggage up the ancient, winding staircase.

My idea of an ideal holiday in Paris would be to live in a Parisian apartment in a stylish French neighbourhood near the scenic Seine River.
Visit http://www.ratedapartments.com/paris...partments.html and choose from a list of wonderful 1 bedroom and studio short-term lets close to tourist attractions in Le Marais, Louvre or Montmartre. Feel at home in Paris at extremely affordable rates.

Advertising isn't allowed on Fodors, can you read? I presume you can, so read the terms of the website which you agreed to when signing up. I think it would be foolish for anyone to take the word of an advertiser, anyway, hardly an unbiased opinion. Agencies that violate rules on websites aren't exactly of good character, and I wouldn't ever rent from someone like that, anyway.

cls2Paris, you are correct - there is no elevator at the Hotel du Lys. But consider Grandmere's sage advice! Take a room on the ground or first floor.
(Grandmere, how can we insure that they never renovate the Hotel du Lys? It would dampen the charm and raise the rates!)
I don't know about a/c, since I visited in April.

Thank you to everyone. I have a reservation at the Hotel du Lys. It is a bit more than I originally thought, but it looks charming and the location is wonderful. The lack of elevator and air conditioning wasn't a major factor. I spent a wonderful two weeks at charming apartment in the Trastevere area in Rome a few years ago and it didn't have air conditioning. I did try several of the other suggestions and many were full or did not have a twin room. My granddaughter is a violent sleeper, and I have been hit in the middle of the night before when we had to share a bed. Your suggestions were so very helpful.
