Fiumicino to Rome: Taxi, hired car or train?
We leave tomorrow and I just realized that I do not know which is best.
Is it too late to call a car company? Which one is reliable? And how much is the fare?
Thanks so much!

I don't know which is best/cheapest/most convenient, but we just used Rome Cabs the other day and they were great--very reliable (and I screwed up my dates when booking) and we had two charming, informative drivers.
I found them recommended here on Fodor's. 45E for 2 people, more for more.

Have a great trip, Venezuela. In case you are interested, our best meals last week were at Antico Arco and Checchino dal 1887. Reserve and take a taxi.

For 1-3 people, the train to Termini, followed by a transport pass to wherever you're staying, is cheapest.
If you're staying near a tube station, that will take about the same time as a taxi (it's an unbelievably slow and infrequent train).
However, the Rome tube system is primeval (well down to the standards of the New York system), so changing onto it with luggage is unpleasant and time-consuming. You need to decide whether money or convenience matters more to you.
