Can't seem to find anything about this little town via the search engine here.

Was wondering if anyone has stayed overnight and able to give comments...

thanks!

You are more than welcome dina4. Thanks for your questioning post. Like I mentioned I have never heard of Fiuggi and your question got my curiosity up. Isn't it a lovely town? Will you be going there and do you have family from there? Not trying to be nosy but just curious as to how you happen to know about Fiuggi. If you do visit there I hope you will tell us about it. It sure looks like the type of small town in Italy that I always love and I imagine for sure it will not be crowded with shoulder to shoulder tourist. Reading the comments after the photos it sounds like one can take the train from Rome and than a bus to get there. That is good to know.

I hope you had a beautiful Thanksgiving also dina4. We are having ours on Saturday so all of the family can be together so today was a relaxing day for me..and I so enjoyed looking at the photos of Fiuggi while listening to Italian CD's and enjoying some wine. CinCin!

I've been to Fiuggi. It is a charming town and of course well known for its spa and mineral water. If you go, be sure to eat at Le Torre which, imho, is one of the best restuarants in Italy.

Thanks, Grinisa!
It does sound like a really charming town. I hope we can stop there! If we do, we will definitely try Le Torre.

There seems to be an upper town and a lower town. Is that right? Which part is this restaurant in?

La Torre is in the old section (upper) of the town. It's on a piazza next to the town hall. I tried to post a link to their website but it isn't working. Google: la torre ristorante fiuggi and it will come up.

I REALLY did not enjoy my stay in Fiuggi...was using Starwood points at Le Meridien - hotel was OK...but very rundown for a 5*(i.e. cracked tiles in the pool, etc.) - staff was wonderful and kind though...and the bed was OK.

Fiuggi was really not what I'd expected - ok...I was only there at night...and there were enough people out strolling around to be enjoyable...but that's about it...we wandered for HOURS and could NOT find even ONE restaurant. I was shocked. (good to know there is one..I just couldn't find it) I wanted something other than pizza for our last evening...but only could find pizza (and gelato) to eat I was very bummed. I asked about 4 locals where to eat and was told there was nowhere in town - great spots if we wanted to walk back over to the hotel and get the car and drive...but it was late and we didn't want to walk back up the hill (with a hungry, tired 6yr old) Maybe the restuarant would not work for a family? (I asked other parents with children) perhaps Le Torre was closed for August and had not reopened? we were there first week in September. Pizza we did find was great...but really a "spa" town with a lot of elderly walking around...there to "take in the waters" - we really just wanted a plesant last night on our way back to Rome. I would not go out of my way to go there...and probably would not even use my free hotel points to stay there...nothing bad about it...just not nearly as charming, IMHO, as other options in Italy.
