Rickmav - Photos From Italy

Hi there. This is my first attempt at doing something like this - posting photos online so hope it works. They are a bit jumbled up, couldn't figure out how to re-order them. Hope you enjoy them.

Photos from Venice, Florence, Chianti & Umbria:

The background music enhanced the photo presentation. I loved it!

I'm down to 11 days before we leave for Italia!

Very Nice. I am planning a 3 week in Italy this June with my two small children. What camera did you use? I have a Nikon D100 and plan to buy a point and shoot also.

Thanks everyone. I hope by the time I post the England photos I've figured out how to put them in order.

IM - the camera is a Sony Cyber-shot, 4.1 mega pixels, nothing fancy, but it worked well. Took a 1GB and two 512MB, filled them to the brim. (We were gone for four months in total.)

Unbelievable......you did a beautiful job. Saw the same places two years ago and it was so wonderful to see your version. (I had 526 pictures and 10 video tapes at the end of my trip). I love Italy and will be returning next Spring..thank you for the memory trip!

Enjoyed your pictures.

I was very surprised when I went to Florence to see how far the Baptistery is from the river.
Those floods must have been really horrific.

Beautiful photos rickmav...and love the presentation!! It brought back memories from two different trips...Florence/Venice and Umbria/Tuscany last May. We stayed at the Hotel Galleria in Venice back in 99.

Thank you for sharing them

Rickmav,

Okay, so no one else has asked this question, and I REALLY want to know:

What is the music playing in the background? Puccini? Who is singing?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Hi i_am_kane - It's one of my all-time favourite songs - 'O Mio Babbino Caro', sung by Kiri Te Kanawa, composed by Puccini (he also did Madama Butterfly and La Boheme). It's from the opera (a small one, I think) 'Gianni Schicchi'. I love Kiri Te Kanawa's voice, but I've been told that Maria Callas singing 'O Mio Babbino' is the best (I've never heard it). I heard the song originally in 'A Room With a View' and fell in love with it immediately.
