Faxing Italy

I want to fax a reservation to Albergo Milano in Varenna. The fax number from usa is listed on their email as (781)-634-0094. Do I just add the 011? Sorry but I'm new at this. Thanks so much!

You need to dial the country code (39) after 011 and then the city code for Varenna (0341). Then the fax number.

So the number would be 011.39.0341.781.634.0094.

However, the fax number on their web site is 830.298. I would try this one first: 011.39.0341.830.298.

Enjoy Varenna - it's beautiful.

(781)-634-0094 does not sound at all like an Italian number, and sounds a lot like a US number.

They've got themselves a US number for the convenience of US customers. Forget about international access codes, country codes and the like.

I'd still use e-mail..cheaper and simply ask for an e-mail reply/confirmation.

snorklefanatic,
As Keith mentioned, a fax to Italy costs about 10 cents and is secure while sending your credit card info.
The website may or maynot be secure and probably is not.

Snorklefanatic already has used the email as is evident on his post. I'm assuming that this specific hotel, like many in France and Italy, wants a credit card with signature on a fax in order to hold a room reservation.

You're right, our hotel wants our credit card as a guarentee. We have been advised to never send our credit card number thru email. They are too easy to hack into. Always fax or go thru a secure site. Thanks for all the help!

The area code listed (781) is somewhere in suburban Boston. Fax away and it will just be a normal long-distance call.
