International Calling-Fax

Before I get jumped on, please know I've used many sources to what would seem to be a question easily answered. Being a Sunday, I can't call my local provider's office. I've tried calling 611, using the internet, attepmted several numbers and still can not find out how to send a fax internationally. The 'area code', 055 precedes the 7 digit number. I've tried dailing a 1 first but that does not transmit. I'd appreciate some help. If I can't get this faxed today, I think I'll go to the post office tomorrow and do a "snail mail".

Mel...<BR><BR>In order to help you, we have to know..<BR><BR>1. where you are faxing from (country)<BR><BR>2. The fax number you are calling including the country and the local number.<BR><BR>Assuming you are faxing from the US and are faxing to France (country code 33) and a local phone number 06-55-51-21-22 you would dial:<BR><BR>011-33-6-55-51-21-22 011 being the international code, 33 the country code, you omit the lead 0 when calling from outside that country, and the local number.<BR><BR>But again that is if you are calling from the US.

As far as I know, sending a fax is the same as calling internationally, all the same number combos. If you are in the US possibly you do not have international service? I faxed one page to France using one of those 10-10 dial-around numbers which you can use no matter who you provider is, I think, and it cost me 22 cents. HTH

No, the initial 0 does not get dropped when calling to Italy.
