Trenitialia Phone Number

I am trying to book overnight tickets from Cefalu to Rome and cannot figure out how to make sure I am getting the promotional rate.

The Trenitialia website lists its call center as: "Call Center 89 20 21"

I have not tried to call yet; but aren't they missing a few numbers?

Has anyone ever called them and if so do you remember the phone number? I searched for posts here but there are so many and I have been looking for a long time.

Thanks

There was a thread on this topic once. This phone number is not a normal Italian number and has no prefix. Within Italy, you just dial these six digits, but I don't think this number can be called from outside Italy.

It does seem to be at least one digit short - - not to mention 011 (if calling from the United States to get international long distance), 39 for Italy (country code) and 06 for Rome. Have you tried that? (i.e., 011-39-06-89-20-21)

And whether that works or not, you may find it advantageous (i.e., save you money) to add 10-10-987 in front of that (see www.1010987.com if you are unfamiliar with... or need more info on this - - there are plenty of other competitors in this discounted international long distance business as well).

Best wishes,

Rex

This is a number which can be dialled from anywhere in Italy. It is not a number in Roma or any other Italian city. Try adding the international prefix: the international code used in your country, then 39 for Italy. If this doesn't work, then this is obviously a number that cannot be dialled from abroad.
Note that Italian phone numbers no longer have a prefix. Numbers in Roma begin with 06, but this must always be dialled, even when calling from another phone in Roma. When calling Italian numbers from abroad, dial the international prefix, then the whole Italian number, including the initial zero.

The rate is showing 465.00 for 5 people. There is a "family fun" promotion that allows you to get 2 adjoinging cabins (for a total of 6 seats/bunks) for $250.00.

Hi Livvie,

If you go to http://www.trenitalia.com/en/promozi...ta_family.html

You will see that it says:

You cannot buy this offer on-line.

Ok I know this post is a little dated but I'm having some trenitalia issues. Tried to book tickets yesterday for February. AMEX wasn't allowing the order to go through but one did get through. However, trenitalia disabled my account AND didn't send me any email confirmation. What can I do? I emailed them with no reply and they have no accessable phone number from the US. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I dug around on their website and found this page of customer service centers with phone and fax numbers that you can dial from the US:

http://www.trenitalia.it/en/area_cli...viaggio12.html

BTW, what do you mean by saying Trenitalia disabled your account?

Thanks a lot. By disabled I mean they locked me out so I can't log back in apparantly its a security feature if you try to purchase tickets more than twice. I emailed them asking to re-enable my account but haven't received any response.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought you meant they'd done something to your Amex account, and I was wondering how they could do something like that.

Hi anton,

This is why you have to call your credit card companies to let them know that you will be making foreign purchases.

The computer automatically blocks "strange activity".

I see that now Ira. Let me ask you assuming I can't get reinstated at the trenitalia website. Do you see a problem with me buying tickets in Venice when I arrive? I will need tickets from Venice to Florence and then Florence to Rome for later on in the week.

Just an update: I translated my email to trenitalia asking them to reactivate my account into italian. Only after doing that did they reinstate my account about a day later. Then I contacted my credit card asking them to allow my transactions. Everything worked fine and I'm all set. Thanks to those out there who helped.
