Hello all. Husband and wife traveling team are starting to gather info for a month-long trip to mostly Spain, a few days in Portugal, maybe quick jaunts into Morocco, Andorra, and/or Balearics.
We would appreciate you sharing your favorite/most helpful website addresses for info on Spain (and other nearby areas mentioned). Information is valuable and we are enjoying reading all the posts.
Also, without sounding too lazy to do our own research, would anyone have a preference as to which of the Balearics would be the best for a few days of winding down during our long journey? No discos or clubbing, just a spot for a little relaxation and maybe a little sightseeing. (Hope that's not too vague a request.) Thanks to all who reply!

If you call the Spain Department of Tourism in NYC and tell customer service which towns and cities you are interested in visiting, you will receive a comprehensive package of brochures. I received a package yesterday, and the brochures are very nice with lots of detail, photographs, and maps.

Also check out the Madridman site, www.madridman.com, the members are very knowledgeable about Spain and are of great help.

Websites that I have bookmarked:

www.tourspain.es
www.traveli nginspain.com
www.red2000.com/spain
www.spanish-living.com

for the barcelona area, you could start at www.bcn.es which has a list of links covering many organizations and activities.

I concur that the Spanish tourism office is wonderful for brochures in specific areas. I got some very detailed stuff. However, the best URL for Spain info is the email address for Maribel on this forum. I will let her give it to you at her discretion.

Oh, easy, Jennifer...

Estancias de Espana, the "poor man's Paradors" association at http://www.estancias.com/

Wonderful hotels and restaurants reasonably priced and usually in wonderful restored buildings. The site is mainly in Spanish but you'll get the idea. Also excellent links to similar organizations in other European countries.

This thread is particularly about Spain websites:

http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessages.jsp?fid=2&tid=34391331

A more focused search which will find other good threads would be "spain and url" and/or "website" and click on the Spain category - you'll have to weed out the stuff that isn't applicable to your region, but worth it!
