Experience with these London car services

Has anyone used these London car services? expressairportransport.co.uk or exclusiveairpors.com or totallydriven.co.uk.com? Their prices seem to be less expensive.

I suggest you use Google and put the name of the car service in the box and add the word "review" and you'll get plenty of opinions.

Frankly, after having numerous issues with others I've simply saved myself time and grief and gone with Justairports lately.

I'd stick w/ the tried and true. justairports, . . . Or for more ££ but also reliable, London Transfers or Swiss Cottage

But for reliability and value you really can't beat justairports.

And it helps to properly identify the companies you're discussing. They're probably exclusiveairports.com and totallydriven.co.uk - you won't have .co.uk.com in the address.

I am trying to get from Southampton to London without doing the taxi, National Express, taxi route. It seems justairports does not go there (duh, because Southampton is not the airport I guess).
I looked at www.exclusiveairports.com (good price but mixed reviews and it seems to be a booking service for 5 other companies) and www.totallydriven.co.uk (no reviews) and
www.expressairporttransport.co.uk (great rate but no reviews)

What is your exact destination - are you going to a specific location, hotel, etc.? Makes a difference....

We took National Express from our hotel in London to Southampton and had a great ride, booked online at a fantastic price. They have specials all the time but you would then need a taxi to your destination.

Here is a nice website that I have seen recommendations for to check out, you can book a shared shuttle, private, etc. Prices were good.

For Southampton to London, try westquaycars.com or, the one I've used, smithsforairports.com
They are both based in the greater Southampton area. Good rates. When we used Smiths, we went from Southampton cruise terminal into central London. Both of these companies are recommended on cruise critic for decent rates as well as reliability.

I don't think the OP is asking about transfers from Southampton to London. That was posted by deladeb re a different trip . . .

Reading the reviews that you'll find on Google or on their websites should be helpful. http://www.batransfer.com/ and https://www.247airporttransfer.co.uk/ would be other recommendations that I can suggest

Hi FACS,

I have used HOTEL BY BUS, a shared car service from Heathrow to central London. Being a solo traveler, I find it convenient. I just go to their office near arrivals, may have to wait 10-15 minutes to be called, then proceed to the city with 2 or 3 other parties.

I have booked them for June. Just looked at my credit card statement and the charge was $125 US for both ways. Hope this helps.

IMO - way too much for a shared ride. justairports would have been a little less for door-to-door service w/ a driver meeting you at arrivals.

hi latedaytraveler (looking forward to trip report, btw), was the $125 (~75 GBP, as I type) to cover both into London And back to airport?

Scotlib, thanks. Yes, the $125 US was for both ways, but that is for a solo fare. Obviously for two or more other options could be cheaper.

Actually - even for a single, a car service could be cheaper. To central London (and w/ cash payment) justairports charges £32 each way which is only £64/$107 R-T.

For two or more its a no brainer, but even for one a car service is usually cheaper than any other option other than the tube.

$125 seems really really high for one of those group airport shuttles, I've never paid anything like that in any other city. Even in Paris, which is a bit more expensive than some other cities, the group vans cost about 25 euro each way ($35) for a single person. That's about the same distance.

At least it was cheaper than a taxi.
