EUROSTAR TRAIN FROM PARIS TO LONDON

What is the least expensive way to travel one way from Paris to London on the Eurostar for three adults on July 10.

For fares, schedules go to:
http://www.eurostar.com

You may getter fares by calling directly at their UK office -
Tel: 44 1233 617575.

Someone reported that there is a special rate which is not advertised - leave before 8AM and return after 8PM. $86.00 for 2 adult round trip tickets, 2nd class. I have no first hand knowledge of it but you should ask. For more Paris information e-mail me: [email protected]

The fare that Fred mentions is only available on weekends and bank holidays. So i dont think that would apply to you.

You may consider purchasing your tickets via the web at the SNCF french rail site. Their address is http://www.voyages-sncf.com/dynamic/...UK&_AGENCY=VSC .

When you reserve your ticket you must pay with your credit card and select to pick up your ticket at the train station. You can then pick up the tickets at any train station or any SNCF boutique in France at anytime prior to your departure.

I have found that the SNCF has the cheapest prices. A second class round trip ticket is 95 euros. Be sure to include a saturday stay to get that price and book ASAP.

One way fares are much higher than 95 euros so it is best to book that fare and throw away or sell the return.

Eurostar is offering a special at the moment for 59pounds roundtrip on the www.eurostar.com for the time you need. The tickets have to be purchased from UK, you can do so using a credit card and they will mail it to you. Since you only need the Paris to London part, I would suggest you purchase the roundtrip, London to Paris and and make the return for July 10th Paris to London. Do not use the London to Paris part and just use the Paris to London return part of the ticket.

Try it and see, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

I too would like to travel from paris to london via the train in march. When I go to scnf to book a ticket, however, I don't know which fare to select as there are a half a dozen to choose from. My first inclination is to to select the cheapest fare. Are there any restrictions (resident of france, ect.) Does anyone understand the differences among the fares?

Hi Donna,

I also recommend checking www.raileurope.com as they also offer tickets on the Eurostar, as well as combination deals (i.e. Paris-London return, plus 3-day BritRail pass or FranceRail pass). If you order your ticket 14 or 65 days in advance you also get a discount...

To travel one way I would choose between two options;

- If you really want to go Eurostar, purchase a "false return ticket" such as the we fare one poster mentioned and forget about the return (you wont' be deported for that !)
- If you forget about the train fetish, try one of the three low cost airlines operating this route: Easy Jet flies out of Luton, but arrives in this dustpit in CDG called Terminal 3, so try to avoid it; Buzz flies out of Stansted and arrives at "normal" - if aging - Terminal 1; BMI flies out of Heahrow and land at CDG 1 too - might be a tad more expensive
