no, the CNN program in the US is absolutely not at all the same as the CNN program broadcast in Europe, which is horrible. It isn't just news, I could watch other programs on CNN, and the news isn't even the same as the stuff they broadcost in European hotels from CNN, for example. In Europe, CNN just runs the same few programs continuously all day long.

Found a great solution. These guys provide a hosted Slingbox service from LA. You get the full 250+ 'live' channels from a major US cable TV vendor online so accessible anywhere in the world. You need to take out a subscription but its fully legal, optional 100 hour DVR and great picture quality.
