You can check any definition of 'go' you want. All will tell you 'go' refers to movement. That a word is commonly misused does not change the fact it is being misused.
https://www.google.ca/search?q=go+de...hrome&ie=UTF-8
Thursdaysd and Hetismij2, stairs are for 'going' from one floor to another, the stairs don't 'go' anywhere. You 'go' from one floor to another by walking up or down the stairs. The stairs stay where they are. It's like people saying they are 'taking' the stairs to another floor. You don't 'take' them anywhere.
Picture picking up a staircase and carrying it somewhere. LOL

There are no dictionary definitions of 'go' that would RELATE to stairs, that does not include movement.
The road does not 'go' to London, it 'is' between London and somewhere else. ie. The A1 'is' the road between London and Newcastle.
Yeah semantics PalenQ, they are always good for getting a rise out of those who don't understand them.
LOL

Certainly the road goes to London. See definition 3 above.

"Certainly the road goes to London"
LOL, nothing like the certainty of ignorance.
I'm reminded of a young woman I met who insisted with absolute certainty that she had an English passport. I offered her a considerable financial reward if she would go to her hotel and come back with it as proof.
She didn't return of course as there is no such thing as an English passport.
As I've said already thrusdaysd, that something is commonly used by people does not make it proper English.
Go is an 'action verb'. http://www.gingersoftware.com/conten...r-rules/verbs/
It always refers to an action of some kind. What 'action' do you think a road can be involved in? There could be an exception of course, you could say the 'road moved up, down and sideways during the earthquake.
But you can't say the road decided to go somewhere. LOL

I must have missed the moment in time when any odd website replaced the Oxford Dictionary or Merriam-Webster as source of reference:
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/go
cf. 3b, 3d

ah it continues to go on up and down without moving - but it's fun!
Go for it! go away and come back again without moving.
Gibberish
campo di marti Dukey -but you get credit for having them all right generally.

Campo di Marte it is - my mistake after Googling it and seeing Marte but with my Old Timers Disease typed marti.
Yes you had it right long ago but just giving Dukey some cred - so few would know the other two stations.
There is one more small station right in Florence- north of SMN -anyway know it's name offhand? I stayed in a B&B right by it -only reason I know of it.
