What a difference common sense makes...I went into several pubs during my trip last week to London and guess what...the air was actually breathable as it was in all restaurants I visited thanks to the new law banning smoking in public places (long long overdue)...and even you could sense the difference at Heathrow Airport where the few smoking areas that had existed have been closed and smoking is banned throughout the airport.
And business sure seemed to be no different than it always has been.
And to think there are actually people around who object to this common sense health issue.
Next should be the banning of smoking in hotels and the installation of smoking detectors in all rooms...this is also a big safety issue not so much the second hand smoke thing but the chances of some idiot smoking in bed causing a catastrophic fire.

I don't. Not unless overweight people pay a surcharge to travel.
Sitting next to an obese person on a 14 hour flight is a threat to MY health, and a greater cost on the health service of your country and mine - diabetes, heart problems, etc.
The smoking police and bigots.

Hi
Smoking has been banned in restaurants/bars and public places here in Norway for a few years now and it is great. When I have been out for a drink it is great to feel that my clothes are not stinking of the cigarette fumes. I think laws like this will be more and more common all over the world

You know what? I don't really give a damn about smokers and their rights. They've had their rights for decades and decades to pollute the air in restaurants and bars. And don't tell us non-smokers to stay home - it's the smokers turn to stay home. It's our turn to have some rights, the right to breathe and not have our clothes and hair stink like a disgusting ashtray.
