The Brtish agree UK hotels a bad value
Well what most of us thought was true has been confirmed. This was reported in yesterdays Financial Times.
"More than two thirds of British business travellers believe overseas hotels give better value for money than those in the UK, according to a new survey.
Thirteen per cent take the opposite view and 18 per cent think there is no difference. The research was carried out among senior executives by Company Barclaycard, the corporate charge and credit card issuer.
Food and waiter service are clearly a problem for many UK hotels, with 64 per cent and 67 per cent respectively rating them more highly abroad, against 17 per cent and 14 per cent who felt British was best."

I can believe it. We stayed last month at a supposedly high quality business class hotel in London and it was almost impossible to get drink service in the lobby lounge area (there were drink menus on the tables). We waited 30 minutes to order and had to make repeated requests for a waiter to take our order. But OTOH the waiter never came back to give us the check, so I guess it evened out.
