Eiffel Tower Metro Stop

Is it Trocadero where you exit walk around a building and there is this grand sight of the Eiffel tower in the distance- with nice walkways on either side to get to the tower? We did this last time we were there but I can't be sure if it was Trocadero or the other stop - Ecole Militaire?

Trocadero is on the other side of the river, but it is looking straight at it. I don't know what you mean about walkways to get to the tower, not from Trocadero. I suspect you might mean Ecole Militaire but it's a bit of a hike from there all the way across the Champ de Mars. But if you get out at the closest stop, the RER stop, it's not that far in the distance and you aren't walking along nice walkways to get there.

Is this the view you meant?

if so, the metro stop is Trocadéro.

It is my favorite approach, it is a tiny bit of a hike, and you have to cross traffic, but it is so worth it!

Tocadero gives you great views but is on the other side of the Seine. Did you walk across the river?

On the same side of the Seine is the Ecole Militaire - but then you have to walk across the champs de mars (huge parade grounds created for the military academy)

Take the bus to the champ de mars stop and have the tower over and above you.
I DO have the picture of our family from Trocadero

I think it was Trocadero- I do remember that when we exited the metro there was a building that we had to walk around to see the great view of the Eiffel tower in the distance and it was a nice walk to the tower (one could walk on either side) and yes we had to cross the river before we got to the base of the tower.
