Dubrovnik apt location advice

I'm planning to book an apartment in Dubrovnik and I'm wondering if I could get advice/opinions about its location. The description says its located right above the Hotel Argentina - ten minutes walk from town. Does that distance sound about right from the Argentina? Here's the link with a picture of the apartment -- does this area look familiar to anyone who has stayed there? http://www.sipa-apartments.com/Location1.htm

Thanks!

Hi,
Im living in Dubrovnik and working in that area. Yes, its really 10 or 15 mins walk to Old town.According the address is siutated not just right above "Argentina hotel", but on the upper road so You can expect some steps too. But also You can expect a great view to Old town, island Lokrum and good and well equiped beach near. Street where is apt located is also served by city buses too, so You can get to other parts of town easily. If You have more questions abt Dubrovnik, just ask

Thanks so much for the location information. The Croatia board has been so quiet lately I didn't think anyone was reading it! From your description the location sounds pretty good. Any better recommendations for apartments out there? If not, I think I'll go ahead and book this one. Thanks!

I stayed at the Hotel Excelsior - which is located near the Hotel Argentina. It was a five minute walk from the hotel to the Old Town - being south of the Old Town is wonderful. Looks like a great view.

Yes, i think that location is a good choice, a very nice neighbourhood overlooking the sea adn Old town, not far from beaches etc. If You plan to book your apartments in Sept or Oct Youl l probably have much wider choice, its posible to get a nice apt even in the very center of old town what could be some nice experience living with locals.
