and if you use the Search function on Fodor's - same page as this and put in something like Dublin restaurants you'll get what's been covered already, like
"Leaving for London/Dublin trip...any restaurant suggestions?
10 responses;"
one such thread that came up

<Considering the fact that you have posted the same question four times on two message boards WITHIN 20 MINUTES, I suppose you are rather impatient. In that case, I highly recommend McDonald's...>
yes a novice fodor who i hope is not chased away by the above rudeness
I actually suggested after OP's first post entitled just Restaurants that they repost with Dublin in title
So pkerner ignore raspberry7's impetulence and you will find valuable info from Fodorites mixed in with the inevitable raspberry7 type replies.

Pkerner,
There are many excellent places to eat in Dublin. The few times that I have spent more than a day there, I have enjoyed the Kilkenny Cafe on Nassau for a light bite. Beshoff on Westmoreland is another cafe for soups and sandwiches. For dinner, I ate at an all-you-can-eat buffet, cantonese and sxechuan food, on ST. Andrew once that was very good. As soon as I recall the name, I will post it. It was quite reasonable in price. There is also a great place for Pasta just off Grafton on Chatham, I believe, called Pasta Fresca.
Hopefully some of the Dubliners will chime in with some recommendations. I only get over once a year. They would better know what's what.
Slan Beo,
Bit

For lunch we loved Queen of Tarts on Dame St. It is only opened for breakfast and lunch. It has good food and GREAT desserts.
Keep on posting don't let anyone drive you away, you can learn so much on this board and most fodorites are so willing to be helpful.

I used to be a poor admin starving in a large IT company but we ate out a lot as a department for events and visitors so I was able to feed myself and eat in lots of lovely places I could never afford back then. Now i just eat out more as i am living close to the city and woeking there...and i am not starving anymore I can feed myself!
I am not a huge fan of Pasta Fresca but it has its upos and downs. Foe some stunning pasta try Bar Italia over the millenium bridge from Temple bar North Side. The wine bar has basta as well as Bar Italia across from it. Pretty reasonable as well.

I second with oxo, I would recommend the gallaghers boxty house. We ate there on our last night in Dublin and we enjoyed it. The staff was so friendly and helpful.
We also enjoyed some Pub chips at Farrington's.

I can add some extras, notably the hard-to-find but incredibly friendly Clarendon's, 3 minutes walk from Grafton Street. You can check my web site for more - please inform me if you see errors:

Have a great time,
Peter
PS. Ironically (considering some of the rude answers you received), I call my cafe/restaurant pages "Avoiding MacDonalds..." !!!
