Dublin/Edinburgh Rail Sail Ticket-how to buy
I want to do the rail sail from Dublin to Edinburgh. When I try to book the ticket, it tells me I must either select a delivery address within the UK or a ticket printing machine location in the UK. However, I am in Ireland not in the UK. Anyone know how to get tickets for transit to UK while still in Ireland? Thanks.

Book at www.virgintrains.co.uk and you should get a £7.50 option to have tickets posted overseas.
OR, if you're happy going via Holyhead (rather than Belfast/Cairnryan) you can book at https://www5.irishferries.com/anitex....aspx?EN_S1_SB
OR buy when you're there, at Connolly station, no great need to book way in advance, a day will do.

You're obviously looking at a UK site which isnt much use if you're leaving from Ireland. Both the ferry companies offer the sail-rail option so pick either www.irishferries.ie or www.stenalinaline.ie and you're on your way.

1. irishferries will only offer the route via Holyhead, not via Belfast-Cairnryan. It won;t show train times, just book the ferry with open ticket onward ticket, which is a problem if people want to be spoon-fed details (it's easy enough to look up train times separately at nationalrail.co.uk, your ticket is good for any train)
2. stenaline.ie doesn't sell sailrail tickets online, it just asks you to call a number.
3. virgintrains.co.uk sells both routes, shows all ferry and train timings (if Arriva Trains Wales has remembered to input Dublin-Belfast train times into the British rail industry database, of course...), and will send tickets internationally for a fee.
Take your pick!
