Driving in Sweden

I drove with a US license with no problems. Sweden is an easy country to drive, much easier than London or Paris. A few of the highways in the country are secret runways. You can tell because they are very straight and very wide. One lane of traffic is about triple the width in the US. After 1-2 miles, the "runway" ends and the road returns to normal width. During war, Swedish jet fighters would land, refuel, and go back into combat.

I believe Derek just mixed up things. Last time Sweden was at war was 1809. So, certainly no jet fighters at that time. He must have meant thet they COULD be used as runways. We have those also in Finland, and they are not "secret", just sort of "just in case" runways, and easily seen from any plane that flies low enough.

And Klam, yes, your US licence is sufficient.
