Driving on Martinique

We have heard lots of horror stories about how aggressive the drivers are on Martinique. Supposedly, they have elevated tailgaiting to a new level. Has anyone driven there and, if so, what are the local drivers really like?

Yes have driven all over in Martinique. The drivers are not particularly aggressive but they do drive fast on some roads. The road system is very good, same signs etc as in mainland France.

I drove from top to bottom there a few years ago. I didn't note unusual aggressiveness.

The roads were mostly good. The road signs were not.
