Driving Bruges to Paris. Is it worth the drive?

I did a driving tour from Ghent down south and west, hitting places like Tielt, Roeselare, Ypres, Poperinge, Westvleteren, Dunkirk, and Ostend before doubling back to Bruges - - but I was in it for the beer. I had a great time, and found it all pretty and interesting, but the great beer did keep me in a good mood.

If driving I'd use trains to Bruges then train to Lille and rent a car for France -if you have time to spend a few days meandering to Paris -renting car in one country and dropping in another typically means very steep drop-off charges.

Or rent in each country only.
