Torn between Staying 2 more days in Paris or visiting Bruges

My wife and I will be staying in Paris from Sunday to Sunday but have planned mostly side trips every day: We arrive Sunday from Nice(after 3 days in Nice) into CDG at 2pm and have a dinner function at 7pm. Then our days are set up as follows:
Monday-Champagne Country Tour
Tuesday-Loire Valley Tour
Wednesday- Montmartre 3 hour tour and Seine Dinner Cruise
Thursday- Fontainebleau and Barbizon in the morning and Dinner function at Versailles at night.

That leaves us with Friday and Saturday open to staying in Paris or getting on a train to Bruges. My only thought is that even though we have been to Paris before, maybe we should stay and relax there those last 2 days.

JKen - absolutely right. some on this forum might be querying why you are bothering to stay in paris at all, but it's your trip, not ours.

with that sort of itinerary, I would definitely leave the last two days free. if you are by any chance at a loss for what do to, you could always get train to Bruges, or even the TGV to Nice for that matter!

regards, ann

While Bruges is very, very nice, I'd definitely want to stay in Paris too after your busy schedule.

Agree, relax some so you don't need a vacation after your vacation!! Enjoy the summer cafes and good food and scenery. Bruges is pretty, but PACKED with tourists. Not entirely relaxing there.

Hi jk,

You are based in Paris, why not spend a little time visiting?

>....we have been to Paris before....<

Of course, if this is your tenth visit.........

Thank you for your quick responses. You all make a lot of sense. We have only been to Paris once in 2002 so maybe staying there is the best Idea. It's just that so many people here in Miami have told us "you need to see Bruges!" Nonetheless, just thinking about not having to keep going makes me feel relaxed. I can picture just taking Paris in.

Thanks!

Another vote for Paris. I've been 9/10 items, and I still have a to-do list.

Out of curiosity...why so little Paris time while in Paris?

Bruges hasn't changed a bit over the last 500 years, sure you can wait a few years before visiting Bruges on your next trip? Agree with staying in Paris.

We were in Paris in May for 9 days.
Must have been 20th time.
I was wondering about going to Bruges for a couple of days ( I have been twice, my husband never), but even after so many visits - Paris won out.

With your schedule of so little time in Paris, then I'd stay in Paris. Otherwise, I'd go to Brugges. Happy Travels!
