Dordogne Visit

My extended family is planning a visit to the Dordogne next summer. Does anyone have any recommendations for booking a house? There will be 8 of us going.

Limpitlaw,
We had very good luck renting a house in Sarlat through frenchaffair.com. Friends of ours did as well. The agency had a good selection in the area and the house was as promised. They are based in London, so you are booking a house in France with an agency in England, from the US, but it worked just fine! Good luck; it's a fabulous area in our opinion.

I've rented a house near Sarlat from www.frenchconnections.co.uk and was very satisfied. You'll find another reliable agency at www.simplyperigord.com

Good luck!

Seeing that Limpitlaw is such an unusual name, do you folks have anything to do with Trinity College in Hartford, CT? Just wondering.

Yes, we do! Guess I should have picked a more common name!

Small world! I just went to my reunion in June at Trinity and ran into some Limpitlaws minus my particular classmate. If you haven't been to Dordogne before, I would second the recommendation to stay around Sarlat. It is such a gorgeous, vivacious medieval town. We spent a couple of days in that area. If you have specific information, my email is: [email protected] Best wishes to the family and good luck planning your trip.
