Doolin, Ireland, Accommodation

We are hoping to spend two nights in Doolin this July. Does anyone have a suggestion for good reasonable accommodation there? We usually prefer small hotels but a good B&B would be great as well! Thank you!

Hilda...when we were last in Doolin, we found the Aran View House to be a lovely hotel to stay in...short five minute walk to the heart of the village(Gus O'Connor's Pub, etc)...€55-€70 per person now...was a bit less three years ago. Outstanding bkfsts.buffet..

Thanks very much - I looked it up on the web and it looks beautiful. Was hoping to say around E100 per night but maybe that is unrealistic.

Hilda,

The Sea View House (www.seaviewhouse.eu) is very nice and within your budget. We stayed there earlier in the year. Its very close to Gus O'Connors pub.

We spent 4 nights in Doolin on two different occasions in September 2008. Two nights at the Doolin Activity Lodge which was 30 EUROS per person per night for a triple room. They have internet cafe available and the breakfast was good. Walking distance to Gus O'Conners Puabout 10 minutes). They also have laundry service available. We left our laundry with them in the morning and it was washed and folded and in our room when we returned that evening.

The second time we stayed at the Atlantic View which is right down the road from Gus O'Conners Pub. It is between the Pub and the Docks where you catch the ferry to Aran Islands or Cliffs of Mohr cruise. Again, about 10 minutes walk to Gus O' Conners. We paid 35 EUROs per person per night for a triple room. The room was on the Atlantic side and offered a beautiful view of the ocean and the cliffs of Mohr. Breakfast was excellant.

I can second the recommendation for Seaview House. We loved our stay there. Gus O'Connor's Pub was so much fun but the whole area is very ruggedly beautiful.

We stayed at the Seaview House and hated it. We actually left after the first night knowing we would still have to pay for the second night.

The owner of the Doolin Activity Lodge was very kind and helped us when we had some car trouble. We spent some time there while he was looking at our car. Next time we would stay there if we were ever to go to Doolin again. But that being said we didn't care for Doolin and I don't plan on going back.

I know people love Doolin and Seaview House but it was the biggest let down on our trip.

I would also vote for the Sea View House. We stayed there on our last trip and also have reservations for our next trip in June.

On our last trip in 2003, we stayed at Susan Daly's House. It was lovely. www.dalys-house.com or e-mail [email protected]
The accomodations and breakfast was wonderful. Prepare your palate for the fried tomato and blood sausage for breakfast.
We also loved Gus O'Connor's pub. Have a wonderful time. We love Ireland so much, we are going back in August.

I've stayed at the Atlantic View also and enjoyed it. It is a guesthouse so a little larger than a b&B. Last time I stayed (a few years ago) it was E40 pp.
