Does my husband need a jacket and tie for La Fontaine de Mars, Paris?
Yes, another dress code question that probably has been answered before. We have reservations at three restaurants in Paris. They are all similar to the La Fontaine de Mars. We will be there at the end of June. I am hoping that jackets are not reuqired, just a nice polo type shirt and of coarse slacks. Am I right?
Thank you!

He does not need a jacket. It is a casual restaurant , so a nice polo shirt will suffice. The wait staff will be happy to hear he is also wearing slacks, because a dropped café in his lap without trousers could be cause for alarm. We spent New Years Eve at Fontaine de Mars a couple of years ago, and the food was good (at least what I remember up until that second bottle of champagne).

Absolutely no tie required.
Just nice dress casual clothing.
This is my all time favorite restraunt
in Paris. The food and atmosphere is
outstanding. Make sure you ask to
purchase one their 20x20 red checkered
napkins as a keepsake. Mine has now
been made into a fabulous French Pillow
form sofa.
Have a wonderful time!!
Bon Appetit!

My husband is very plesed that he does not need a tie and a jacket. It will make traveling much easier and therefore more pleasant. Thank you for responses. We leave in two weeks and I am getting excited. I will buy a napkin. Thanks for the tip.

We were there last week on a very warm evening and most of the men were wearing short sleeved shirts or polo shirts. The front and side of the restaurant were opened to the outside so that the air conditioning, if any, was not operating.
