Does hotel Albergo del Senato get CNN Television?

I know this may sound silly; but with so many things going around the world (and my home state of California) we like to get tuned into CNN. Does hotel Albergo del Senato in Rome get CNN? We will be there in early October. Thanks!

We were there in April. No CNN but it did get BBC or SkyNews.

Sorry to hear there is no CNN. I was hoping to find out who my Governor is!

You mean you're from CA too? If I were in Rome, I would be glad not to know who my governor will be-I'd be happy I'm away enjoying Rome (and staying at the Albergo del Senato) and not caring about this silly race.

Believe me, the other stations will all report what's going on due to the actor element involved. So, yes, unless the election is delayed (did you check out the sample ballot -- what a trip!), we'll find out if the terminator was terminated.

Even if your hotel room doesn't get CNN, there will be TONS of internet cafes all over the place in Rome for you to use.

Yes, that's right....internet cafes. That will certainly work.

I've been living this wild "Reality Show" for the past couple of months and am curious to find out the outcome. I mailed in my absentee balot a week ago...Thank goodness for internet cafes. Thanks!

Even if the hotel has CNN, it will be the European edition. Not the same as what we see here in the U.S.

We were in Rome during the World Series last October. All the coverage we got was 5 or 10 seconds at the end of the U.S. report. I suppose the Calif. governor's race would get more coverage than the World Series, but who knows...

We were in Dublin this summer, and there wasn't a news program that didn't spend most of its time harping on the recall and election for an entire week. It was gross. And embarrassing. Then again, they had a 24 hour American Big Brother 4 channel too, speaking of reality shows!!!

Are you going on vacation? And you are worried about getting tv? Much less a certain tv station? YOu need to be hog tied and dragged to a remote island and forced to relax. Or better yet, tied to a chair on a little vineyard in Italy with a bottle of Chianti hooked to your vein.

We will be in Prague October 8 when the election returns come in and hope to run into some fellow Californians or at least watch the news with some interested Europeans to get their take on it all.

We will then go through Germany to Austria and are also interested in the reaction if Ahhnold pulls it off - will they be proud or disdainful? We will definitely stay tuned!

traveller --- I guess by now you know that Aaaarnald is the governor. We'll see what happens from here on.
I guess the comedians will have plenty of new material.
Hope your trip is going well.

Even though this posting is probably moot, I will reply for future guests: the Del Senato absolutely has CNN. I was there on 9/11/01 and regretfully (but thankfully) had access to the day's events from our room.

When we were there two weeks ago, there was CNN. I even thanked the front desk for putting it in so I could find out the Cub/Marlin scores. He said they had it before but during our last trip (April) the satellite wasn't working right and they lost it. Now they are working with a new carrier. If anyone wants to watch American sporting events while in Rome, the Abbey Pub on Via Governo Vecchio, right across from Da Baffetto pizzeria, carries MLB, and NFL games live. We were able to watch some of the Cub/Marlin series very late at night.
