Thanks to those of you who gave some wonderful advice and were supportive.

M_kingdon - not that it's any of your business but just to enlighten you I have lost 100 pounds. I feel sorry for you that you show so much lack of compassion towards others. Not only that you love trying to reduce them to your level. Sorry to disappoint you, you didn't succeed.

So many of you have given me wonderful tips along the way and it goes to show you how great the fodorites are.

From a plus size woman on her way to thinness.

Karen

Karen,
Congratulations!

Don't let M_K get you down. The only reason he/she is so mean is that they have no life (Would you be his/her friend?)

100 lbs is a great amount of weight to have lost and shows a LOT of dedication on your part!

Harold Goddard, the great Shakespearean scholar writes, "Ugliness cannot tolerate beauty." He was writing about Iago, but it can apply to many.

Madison: THAT is amazing! Good for you. I know first-hand that it's not easy, because I just lost the 20 lbs. I gained over the past 20 years, and even THAT took considerable fortitude. I can't even imagine facing losing 100!

You should be incredibly proud of yourself.

Happy shopping! I wish things were less expensive and more fashionable in London, and to me it's not the best venue for clothes shopping, but even if you find one special outfit to commemorate your trip, it will be worth it.

Congratulations on your weight loss, Madison. As someone who did it (but is still working on finishing it up), I do know how difficult it is.

If you are looking for travel clothing, I ordered from Travelsmith.com recently and noticed they had a plus line.

Versace clothes look like they came out of a hooker's closet, don't listen to her. You are in inspiration to all of us trying to lose some weight. Be it ten pounds or your astonishing hundred.
I salute you, Lady Karen.

You will definately find some nice clothes in the UK much easier than in Paris. I think the "average" size in the UK a while back in the news was a 14 (not a 8-10! UK). Not all europeans look like lollypop ladies!

Congrats on the 100 pounds loss . Out of curiosity how did you do this? I am really impressed, good on you!

Madison; well done! And can I suggest, for great lingerie and swimwear, Rigby and Peller right next door to Harrods. They definitely cater for plus sizes. It's also where the Queen buys her underwear (apart from Marks & Spencers presumably).

Siobhan - I lost the weight by cutting back, trying to eat healthy foods and exercise. It was a few years back that I lost the weight but have managed to keep it off, which is the hardest part of all. I am now in the final stages of losing the remainder of my weight. Hopefully when I'm in London and Paris a few more pounds will come off. When I was in Paris 2 years ago I managed to lose 8 pounds in 12 days. That's because I walked everywhere.

Again to all of you for your kind words.
