Does Gare D'Austerlitz connect to Gare D'Lyon ?
Will be coming in to Gare D'Austerlitz and switching to a TGV train at Gare D'Lyon. Checking on a map I see they are just across the river from each other. Is there a connecting passageway? Or is it the easiest thing to just hop in a taxi?

There are no underground tunnels under the Seine. However, you can walk above ground, if that's what you want to do. There is a bridge over the Seine right at that point (bridge Charles de Gaulle).

As Christina has said you can walk it or as Ira has noted you can take a cab. We did it once via cab and the driver was not thrilled to be going such a "short" distance but she didn't seem to mind the big tip I added..her face brightened up considerably.

A taxi is most convenient. With bags, next most is bus number 57, from Gare d?Austerlitz over the river and up the ramp to Gare de Lyon. The metro goes only a third of the way, to Quai de la Rapee, unless you go two stops to the Bastille, change, and go one stop to Gare de Lyon, a long way round.
