Hi fr,

You can look it up at www.mappy.com.

There is a bus from Milan Centrale to MXP.

I don't know the distance, but the time on the bus was about 30 minutes, if I remember correctly.

I probably should have asked which station before answering; to clarify, I was assuming Stazione Centrale.

MXP's website says it's 50km.

www.sea-aeroportimilano.it

It also lists two different companies for buses to Stazione Centrale - Malpensa Bus Express (€ 5.50) and Malpensa Shuttle (€ 5).

Malpensa Shuttle's website is
www.malpensashuttle.it

Every 20 minutes, journey time 50 min.

Hi foxyroxy (love your nick). I would plan an hour for the shuttle bus from the Florence Central (Centrale) train station to Malpensa airport. But, and do keep this in mind, if you are on the shuttle bus during heavy traffic conditions it could take a little longer. So don't cut your time short.

Are you planning on going by train from Florence to Milan on the day you fly home? If so I would sure keep an eye on possible train strikes. And also, I have been at the Florence Train Station when the train has been over two hours late. Personally I would go to Milan the afternoon before. Just FYI. Best wishes.

You don't mention which Milan airport you will be leaving from. If it is from Malpensa (for most overseas departures), that airport is 55 km northwestof Milan. For intra-European travel, most flights leave from Linate. That airport is within Milan; a cab ride from the Milan Central station.
