Direct flight NY to Venice
Hi Everyone,
I'm a shop-a-holic when it comes to flights and want to get a sense of a decent roundtrip price NY-Venice. Or even a flight NY to Venice, Rome to NY open jaw.
What are the better prices for this flight? In your experience? I'm seeing 1600+ with direct flights NY-VCE, FCO-NY.
Thanks in advance,
Natalie

If you're willing to come south to Philly, US Airways fly directly to Venice. I don't know exactly what the fare is right now, but when I last checked it was well under $1600. Also, try www.lastminutetravel.com. We just got Philly-Rome-Milan-Philly for $650.

Orbitz have plenty of flights under $1,000, including Iberia JFK-MAD-VCE.
Alitalia (if you're not afraid of their financial situation) JFK-MXP-VCE, bookable on their website, $1,071.
AA/BA JFK-LHR-VCE roundtrip on your dates, $1,178, bookable on aa.com.
But if you have to fly non-stop, then your only choice is Delta, which has fares around $1,700 now, because it has no competition.

If you want to fly cheap, you can fly Air India JFK-LHR for $547, bookable on Orbitz.com.
Then do the Heathrow-Stansted transfer and fly Ryanair to Treviso (with shuttle to Venice). Coming back the same way, departing VCE late 6/4. 77GBP ($150).
So, total airfare $700. Add National Express between the two airports, 26GBP roundtrip and transfer from Treviso to Venice, it's still under $800.
I wouldn't do it, but the option is there.
