Direct flight NY to Venice

Hi Everyone,

I'm a shop-a-holic when it comes to flights and want to get a sense of a decent roundtrip price NY-Venice. Or even a flight NY to Venice, Rome to NY open jaw.

What are the better prices for this flight? In your experience? I'm seeing 1600+ with direct flights NY-VCE, FCO-NY.

Thanks in advance,
Natalie

When?

BarbMH Jan 11th, 2007 12:43 PM

If you're willing to come south to Philly, US Airways fly directly to Venice. I don't know exactly what the fare is right now, but when I last checked it was well under $1600. Also, try www.lastminutetravel.com. We just got Philly-Rome-Milan-Philly for $650.

Hi N,

Huck Finn's flight seems to have disappeared.

kayak is showing $884 for JFK/Zurich on AA, 2 hr layover in Zurich and on to VCE.

Flight from Rome is nonstop on AA.

Orbitz have plenty of flights under $1,000, including Iberia JFK-MAD-VCE.

Alitalia (if you're not afraid of their financial situation) JFK-MXP-VCE, bookable on their website, $1,071.

AA/BA JFK-LHR-VCE roundtrip on your dates, $1,178, bookable on aa.com.

But if you have to fly non-stop, then your only choice is Delta, which has fares around $1,700 now, because it has no competition.

Thanks I didnt realize Alitalia was having issues. I did just realize Delta is one of the few directs via NY.

Thanks all for ur advice!!!

Much appreciated.

If you want to fly cheap, you can fly Air India JFK-LHR for $547, bookable on Orbitz.com.

Then do the Heathrow-Stansted transfer and fly Ryanair to Treviso (with shuttle to Venice). Coming back the same way, departing VCE late 6/4. 77GBP ($150).

So, total airfare $700. Add National Express between the two airports, 26GBP roundtrip and transfer from Treviso to Venice, it's still under $800.

I wouldn't do it, but the option is there.

Thanks rkkwan, I appreciate it, I'm not sure about the transfers... I'm "hoping" next week the flights drop a tiny bit... hoping being the key word =)
