Venice precruise with NCL

Can I trust NCL to recommend a good hotel and air for my 1.5 day precruise Venice experience? They need to get me there to enjoy my time there and they have me staying at the Venice Qatro D Altino a Crowne Plaza about 12 miles from San Marco. Has anyone done this precruise routine? How was it? If not, any recommendations?

Crowne Plaza Venice East - Quarto d'Altino is not on the Venice island. It is on the mainland further from Venice than the airport. There are some very helpful reviews of the hotel on Tripadvisor.com

If I wanted to actually visit Venice, I'd probably stay in Venice proper.

I agree with ellenem.... stay IN Venice so you can really get the feel of the city and enjoy walking around at night.

Thanks, I know that is the right thing to do but they, of all the strange sources (NCL) are actually giving me by far the best air fare and that is times five, so I don't know what to do but I know you guys are right.

Only you can decide which is more important, price or convenience. Don't forget to factor in the cost to reach Venice from there, as well as the "cost" of the time spent from your short visit to go back and forth to Venice.

Do you have to book the hotel with NCL to use their air? I do not think this is the case so you might double check. Normally, you can book their air and be on your own for a hotel.

I agree that with only one night, I would opt for Venice proper.
