you probably have this, but I meant to post the official Reims tourism website. Go to the champagne section for links to the houses

http://www.reims-tourisme.com/

In case you are slow, like me, you put the pointer of your mouse on a subject area (like "champagne&quot and then you see a drop-down list of things you can select (like the champagne houses, the champagne route, etc). It took me a while to figure out. I think Mumm is the house closest to the train station, you could even walk to it (it's off a bit from the surrender museum), but in that general direction of the city, see
http://www.mumm.com/visites/

They have a map on their website showing Mumm and the train station and the cathedral.

Ladylyn: I realize now that the bus F doesn't stop at Pommery. I should have known better, I live in Reims!
There is another bus stop nearby but very few buses operate on Sunday on this line.
So you have no other option than to take a taxi.
Sorry!

Thanks Christina, The website is a bit difficult. I was not able to access the maps-- not sure what I am doing wrong. I was able to find a map of Reims on Mappy.
I am really getting excited about visiting Reims. I like Veuve Clicquot champagne and I love that it was built by a woman, although I don't remember the whole story. I may decide to go there. I haven't accessed the cathedral website yet. We may not go until Monday now.

Askar, I don't mind taking a taxi, as long as getting one to go back to the train is possible, but I think we may wind up going to Mumm in the morning, then to the cathedral and then Veuve Clicquot. I'm not sure why I am so wishy washy making decsions for this trip. I think it may be that I have(for me) a lot of time this trip. Typicallly, we have only stayed in Paris 4 or 5 days and then continued somewhere else. This trip is all about "together" time with my daughter before her wedding and we will be in Paris for 8 days.
I very much appreciate all the information everyone has given me.

I couldn't get any good maps on the Reims website, either, but the map I was referring to was on the Mumm website and has Mumm marked as well as that side of the city and other important sites.

Go to the Mumm website, then Visiting GH Mumm at the upper right, then "how to find us"

At the risk of slowing the momentum that Reims has on this thread, I would suggest Rouen. Easy trip, charming city, and great churches, including the cathederal that Monet painted 12 different versions of.

It is a little more of an effort to do Burgundy in a day....but it is doable. Take an early morning train from Paris to Dijon and rent a car at the AutoEurope around the corner from the train station. Drive south along the Route du Vin through the fabulous vineyards of the Cotes du Nuits, finally arriving in Beaune by noon or early afternoon. See the capital of Burgundy for the rest of the afternoon with a wine tasting at Bouchard or one of the other negociants. Maybe hop a quick taxi out to Chateau de Pommard (10 minutes). At the end of the day one would return to Dijon and get on the train or even could conceivably have dinner in Gevrey Chambertin (Les Millesimes) and drive on into Dijon after dinner to catch the return train. This is the Real Wine Tour if your daughter wants to taste the Best France has to offer.
