Day Trips from Capri?

Can anyone give me suggestions on day trips from Capri? We would like to see more of the Amalfi Coast but since this is our first visit I am not quite sure of the distance or accesibility. We will be in Capri for four days in late May.

Thank you.

You can take a hydrofoil to Sorrento (about a 20 min journey). YOu can take a boat to Positano (about 30 min journey). The boat is also available to Naples - I don't know how long that is...guessing about an hour a a bit less. I beleive there is also a boat to Amalfi. If not, take a boat to Positano and you can easily get to Amalfi. Once in Amalfi, you can also take a bus about 20 min up the hill to Ravello.

If you like hiking, check out some of the hikes on Capri. We did that one day and it was so scenic. We got amazing photos from our hike that day.

Dejais - You can find hydrofoil/ ferry timetables from Capri on:

http://www.capri.net/salsa/lang/en/page/transport.html

There are services to Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Salerno, Naples, Ischia ...

Pompeii, Ercolano, Vesuvius & Paestum are other options, to name a few.

Hope this helps ...

Just be aware that these are day trips only - not day/dinner trips - since the ferries can stop surprisingly early. Also - check the weather/sea conditions - since if it gets rough they will cancel boats - and you don;t want to be stuck away from your hotel for the night.
