No we are renting the car to drive from FCO to Florence and then onto the Italian Riviera and Venice where we will be dropping off the car. With the 4 of us, it was more cost effective plus more convenient.

Thanks to everybody for their input.

Looks like we will now plan on spending an entire day in Siena and then another day to drive through Chianti S222 and S. Gimignano.

I agree with SERA. Siena is a magical town, and to not spend atleast one night there would be a shame!

I enjoyed San GImignano as well, but that can easily be done in a daytrip.
