Danube: any information about flooding at Budapest and downstream?

News reports indicate rising water along the Danube from Vienna and eastward -- Budapest, Belgrade, and on toward the Black Sea. Can anyone provide eyewitness reports of the severity of this flooding?

Thanks, julies. Budapest seems to be having a wet time of it, with the Danube in full flood. Great photos on that web site! Photos showed how the trolley tunnels have become full of water. But I suspect the water will recede in the next few weeks. Spring rains and heavy runoff from deep snow has caused rivers to rise throughout central Europe and points downstream.

I am leaving Apr 22 for a 17 day Danube River cruise from the Black Sea to Vienna. YIKES!!! It doesn't look good.

What am I doing wrong? I went to the site mentioned above and found a lot of info about cameras but nothing on the flooding. Thanks for any help.

The Danube has gone down in Budapest but is causing havoc in Serbia and Romania and Bulgaria. Here's the link from the bbc for more information and a map.

It's a pretty bad situation!
